Ultrasound machines use very high frequency sound waves emitted from a transducer which is placed in contact with the mother’s belly. The sound waves scan the baby and are reflected back to the inducer. This information can then be made into a picture.This procedure is perfectly safe, but be warned; the conducting gel will be cold and wet. You will not feel anything at all from the ultrasound waves.
