BYE BYE BANGKOK is a comedy about four couples – Anirban and his wife Aparajita is a couple who is not much in love with each other. Anirban is an ad film maker who is going around with a girl named Pritha, who is also the wife of a man named Milon, who deals in real estate. Pritha who runs a N.G.O always dreams of getting awards without doing anything. Anirban’s wife Aparajita who is a professor of Philosophy doesn’t like Anirban’s lifestyle.
Priyatosh is a salesman of biscuits. One day he lands up at a house where he manages to sell several packets of biscuits with lucky draw coupons inside it. Aparajita is very obsessed with lucky draws and she finally finds a coupon inside one of the packets of biscuits, which helps her to win a free trip to Bangkok. Aparajita asks Priyatosh to accompany her to Bangkok. Priyatosh lies to his wife Nandita who is a model and is incidentally going around with Milon.
Avijit Banerjee is a man who runs his own software company. His secretary is completely absent minded and has got a terrible memory; she always goes with him wherever he goes. His wife Anwesha and her driver plan to go abroad when her husband lets her down at the last moment when they are supposed to go abroad. Her husband also lands up in Bangkok with his secretary. Now, all of them land up in Bangkok and even stay in the same hotel and all of them book their tickets through the same travel agent.
A series of hilarious events occur and one particular event brings all of them together. They all blame Sadhu Charan as the main reason behind all this and they leave him and Avijit’s secretary in Bangkok and all of them go back. The film features more or less the same group of actors barring a few additions or subtractions from Cha E Chuti.
BYE BYE BANGKOK is no doubt a light hearted comedy, fully entertains the audiences and is definitely worth watching. Kudos to Aniket Chattopadhyay who came up with such a brainwave of a story and after Cha E Chuti!
