Blackberry Storm2 a review

The Blackberry Storm2 is the first to come with Wi-Fi. Though the BlackBerry Storm already had 3G, the addition of Wi-Fi speeds up the data transfer plus it is s an alternative way to get online when you are out of the 3G zone. The OS 5.0 has really enhanced browsing making it much faster. The voice quality is rich, clear and the noise reducing technology helps to eliminate background noise.


The Blackberry Storm 2 offers the best of the best when it comes to offering you as many features as one desires, all wrapped up in one little device. It includes pre-installed Yahoo Messenger, AIM, Google Talk and Window Live, making the Blackberry Storm2 all the more alluring. 




The attachment viewer opens Power Point, Excel, Microsoft Word, PDF, WordPerfect etc. Copy/ paste/cut option is also included in the BlackBerry Storm2. While the calendar, memo pad, task list, calculator and voice recorder will take care of your scheduling.

The Storm2 comes with a 256 MB flash memory which is further strengthened by 2GB of onboard media memory. The microSD can be increased to 32 GB giving the user plenty of space for video files and music. The integrated media player supports a number of audio formats such as MP3, AAC+ etc and WMV, MPEG4 and H.264 video clips on the video front. The 3.2 inch HVGA (480x360) screen resolution makes a decent display for your YouTube downloads and other video content.

The Blackberry Storm2 contains all the features present in its other Blackberry cousins like smart dialing, speed dial, voice activated dialing, conference calling, speakerphone, Bluetooth and text and multimedia messaging.

Navigation is exceptional with this phone and the phone’s GPS locates destinations on the Blackberry Maps application within a jiffy. With VZ navigator ( an optional application), you can track your position while on the road and it gives you precise directions in a clear audible voice and even warns you of any traffic incidents ahead.

The 3.2 megapixel camera with video recording capabilities is found to be clear and vivid The BlackBerry Image stabilization feature, flash, and geo tagging capabilities are some other features of this camera. The images are sharp and clear with true to life colors and the presence of the camera hard key has made photo taking a whole lot easier. You can send and receive photos via e-mail, Facebook and SMS.

The Blackberry Storm2 is powered by a 1400mAH lithium ion battery which gives a talk time of up to 5.5 hours and around 11.2 days of standby time.
